On January 19, 2010, Canadian Ambassador to China David Mulroney and Mrs. Mulroney visited the Xiang’e Primary School with a handful of delegates from FII China and Canadian mission staff. The visit was accompanied by Dujiangyan Mayor Xu Fuyi, who warmly welcomed the delegation on behalf of the Dujiangyan people.

Ambassdor Mulroney brought gifts for the Students

Mayor Xu updated the delegation with Dujiangyan earthquake reconstruction progress including the status of community and economic recovery. Ambassador Mulroney expressed his gratification towards the progress and the amount of work in earthquake reconstruction on behalf of the people of Canada, and further congratulated the Dujiangyan people for their success in reconstruction efforts.
