Mianyang Special Education School for the Disabled - Project Under Construction

The earthquake had a dire impact on Mianyang Municipality claiming the lives of more than 20,000 people, injuring almost 180,000, and leaving nearly 8,000 still missing. More than 13,000 children and adults have been left disabled by the quake.

To help those devastated by the earthquake, the Mianyang Government is constructing a comprehensive facility for the disabled that will include approximately 5,300 m2 of wood frame dormitories, classrooms and care facilities, to which British Columbia and Canada will contribute wood materials, design, construction of the wood structure components, as well as technical transfer and quality assurance services.
